Rapid COVID-19 Testing

Do you have a sniffle and wonder if it's more than a cold? We want to take that burden off of you and give you the facts you need.

LifeWay Health is excited to announce that we are now performing rapid testing for COVID-19. We have invested in new equipment to provide you with answers within 15 minutes. This service is for our current patients or anyone in the community who wishes to become a patient.

We will offer three options for testing:

  1. A rapid nasal test with results in 15 minutes (most accurate if currently displaying signs or symptoms)

  2. A PCR nasal test with results in 2-3 days (accurate if currently infected with or without symptoms)

  3. An antibody blood test with results in 3 days (used to determine if someone was infected and still has antibodies)

The testing process will begin with a visit between you and one of our providers. This visit can be done via telehealth, phone, or while you wait in your vehicle. This visit will determine such things as risk factors and which type of test the provider will use.

The rapid test is most accurate for those actively displaying symptoms. The PCR test is being used for those with and without symptoms who have been potentially exposed to the virus. The antibody test is not accurate for those who are actively sick. The antibody test is used to determine if someone has been sick and has developed antibodies to fight COVID-19.

Your provider will go over the process with you and come to a decision on which test you need. The testing can usually be completed in your car. The provider will also determine if you need to be seen for other issues.

We are seeing active cases of flu in patients that are being tested for COVID-19. Please describe your symptoms completely when you call. We can provide a rapid flu test car side as well. Please remember that other viruses are active during cold and flu season.

Symptoms

People with COVID-19 have had a wide range of symptoms reported – ranging from mild symptoms to severe illness. Symptoms may appear 2-14 days after exposure to the virus. People with these symptoms may have COVID-19:

  • Fever or chills

  • Cough

Look for emergency warning signs for COVID-19. If someone is showing any of these signs, seek emergency medical care immediately:

  • Trouble breathing

  • New confusion

  • Inability to wake or stay awake

  • Bluish lips or face

Employers

We are working with several local employers to provide testing for their staff members. We recognize the severity of lost revenue due to multiple members being infected with the coronavirus. We have provided on-site testing for larger companies and in office testing for those who wish to simply drop by have their test performed. We can be flexible and come up with a testing plan that suits your company. Email or call us today if you would like to work together to protect your staff. info@LifeWayToday.org

Cost

The cost for COVID-19 testing is $100 for a rapid COVID test. Your safety is our top priority. We do require that patients with a positive COVID-19 result are seen by a provider for proper care and follow-up.  At this time, the rapid test is paid out of pocket prior to having the test.

Memberships at LifeWay

One service that helps many of our patients is our membership packages for those who have high deductible health insurance or are not insured at all. We can provide the care you need at an affordable cost and spread the expense over the year. This is a great service which works well to ensure preventative health. If you are navigating COVID-19 without a medical home, please ask us about how we can help you. We want to ensure that you are taken care after your test results come back.
